Yejiatang Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located at Yejiatang Village, Kaihua County, Zhejiang. It was named by Jiang Shengzhi et al. in 1959.
Lithology and Thickness
Sandstone and Coal. Composed of sandstone-conglomerate, pebbly sandstone, fine-grained sandstone, siltstone and high-carbonaceous mudstone, intercalated with coal seams or streaks, forming 4−5 cycles of normal grading. The mineable coal seams are in the Lower part, and generally no mineable coal seams in the Upper part. Thickness varies from to 20 to 78 m.
Relationships and Distribution
Lower contact
Disconformable contact with the underlying Zhucangwu Fm in the areas from west of the Jiandeshi Dock to Kaihua, Changshan and Hengjia of Yushan County, Jiangxi; but in unconformable contact with the underlying Ordovician Dewu Fm along Dongjing to Jiangshan of Jinhua and to Sandu and Liuzhai of Yushan County, Jiangxi
Upper contact
Disconformable contact with the overlying Outangdi Fm along Dongjing to Jiangshan of Jinhua and to Sandu and Liuzhai of Yushan County, Jiangxi

Fossils
Lower part contains the Plant Anisopteris cf. transitionis-Archaeocalamites scrobiculatus assemblage, while the Upper Part contains the Neuropteris schlehani cf. rectinervis-Mariopteris acuta cf. obtusa assemblage.
